15-Minute Saison

I started using these 15-minute-boil recipes to brew really tasty pale ales with tons of hop flavor and aroma. With this recipe, I found out that the concept can be used successfully with other styles. The Imperial Rustic yeast really brings a lot of complexity to pair with the Mandarina Bavaria hops.

5 gallon (19 liter) Batch

3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) Briess Bavarian Wheat LME
3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) Briess Goldpils Vienna LME
16 oz (450 g) Golden Candi Syrup

Add fermentables to five gallons (19 liters) water when it is warm enough to dissolve the extract and syrup. I started at around 140F (60C). Be careful not to burn yourself. When the wort comes to the boil, add:

2 oz (56 g) German Mandarina Bavaria hops

Boil for fifteen minutes, then chill to pitching temp.

Imperial Organic Yeast B56 Rustic (no starter).
